This kind of reminds of the blurb some of us knew as kids…something about Spain and Main on the Plain - and I cannot remember it but…this is better!
There is something about the beach that draws us in thoughts of a vacation. Then, a beach within an artsy-craftsy town would be better. This is NERJA! This is a kind of laid back artist’s colony of sorts…they have an open air market (like a flea market) where you can wander through and catch artists painting, scultping, drawing during the day. They also sell their works to locals and tourists (although this is NOT a tourist town) so you could go home with a marvelous painting or drawing to really remember your stay!
You are also close enough to go up to Malaga for a day trip. There is plenty in the area to see and do – but don’t overdo yourself….this is a vacation, after all. The blue Mediterranean sea will draw you into its warm waters. You can golf, swim, partake of nightlife, read a book in secluded privacy — and also enjoy a glass of local wine on your patio overlooking the garden and pool with views toward Nerja town and the Sierra mountain range to the sea – or coffee and a croissant in the morning, This IS the place to relax and unwind.
